Islam Evloev Wins Bronze at the Asian Championships
Kozybayev University student Islam Evloev delivered an outstanding performance at the Asian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships held in Bishkek, winning a bronze medal in the 97 kg weight category.
This is an excellent result and the first medal for Islam at the senior Asian Championships. The tournament proved to be highly competitive for him: in the quarterfinal, he confidently defeated his Japanese opponent with a score of 8:0, demonstrating control, speed, and strong tactical awareness.
In the semifinal, he faced experienced Iranian wrestler Mohammadhadi Saravi, one of the recognized world leaders in the sport. The match was intense; however, his opponent’s experience and consistency played a decisive role, and Evloev lost 1:3. Nevertheless, the defeat did not unsettle the athlete.
In the bronze medal bout, the athlete from North Kazakhstan left no chance for his South Korean opponent, securing a dominant 9:0 victory.
Islam Evloev is one of the leading athletes of the new generation of Kazakhstan’s Greco-Roman wrestling school. He is a former World Youth Champion and a medalist of international tournaments. In particular, in 2026 he won a silver medal at the prestigious ranking tournament “Zagreb Open” in Croatia, and in 2005 he placed second at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh.
Congratulations to our student on reaching a new sporting milestone! We wish him continued success, strong health, and many bright victories!
