1. Senior Research Associate - Synthetic Organic and Polymer Chemistry of Sulfur

Workplace: Kozybayev University

Requirements:

  • Citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • Proficiency in English sufficient for international collaboration.
  • PhD degree in Chemistry.
  • Postdoctoral or equivalent research experience (2–6 years).
  • At least 5 publications in peer-reviewed international chemistry journals.
  • Ability to lead a research group, establish a laboratory from scratch, maintain infrastructure, and organize scientific work.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, experience working in teams and international projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and conduct original research in sulfur-containing molecules and materials.
  • Manage the laboratory, including staff and graduate students.
  • Maintain and develop research infrastructure.
  • Actively participate in joint projects with international partners.
  • Provide scientific supervision for students and young researchers.

2. Postdoctoral Researcher - Organic/Polymer Chemistry of Sulfur

Workplace: Kozybayev University

Requirements:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry.
  • Knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • 0 to 6 years of research experience.
  • At least 2 publications in scientific journals.
  • Practical laboratory skills in synthetic chemistry.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experimental research in organic and polymer chemistry of sulfur.
  • Participate in collaborative scientific projects.
  • Prepare scientific publications and presentations.
  • Support laboratory operations.

Additional Preferred Specialization:

  • Experience in applying polymers and functional materials in hydrometallurgy or metal sorption processes.
  • Understanding of technological processes in the mining industry related to metal extraction and purification.
  • Skills in developing and testing sulfur-based polymers and other sorbent materials for industrial applications.
  • Ability to conduct research at the interface of synthetic chemistry and industrial technologies, collaborate with partners in the mining and metallurgical sectors.

3. Researcher in Computational Chemistry

Workplace: Kozybayev University

Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics, Computational Chemistry, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Experience with modeling methods (MD, DFT, or others).
  • Proficiency in Linux and modern computational tools.
  • 0 to 6 years of research experience.
  • At least 2 publications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform modeling and computational experiments for sulfur-based systems.

4. System Administrator (Linux/High-Performance Computing)

Requirements:

  • Experience as a system administrator (Linux, servers, clusters).

  • Experience in administering server hardware and network infrastructure.
  • Experience in scientific projects is an advantage.
