Today, the Kozybayev University team met with students of the Petropavlovsk College of Engineering and Transport named after Bayken Ashimov. The main goal was to introduce the students to dual education and the opportunity to pursue higher education at our university. Today, college graduates have a unique chance to enroll in a dual education program and study (including on a scholarship) without interrupting their work at production sites. Another benefit is that they only need to pass two subjects for admission. The university also organizes free preparatory courses for the UNT (Unified National Testing).
"The country is in dire need of technical personnel. The head of state clearly stated in his Address that we need to put education on a technical track. We can see how Kazakhstan is industrially developing, new enterprises are opening, and jobs are being created. There is a huge demand for specialists. Businesses need well-trained, qualified workers. In this regard, dual education provides a great opportunity for college graduates to obtain higher education and find employment," said the Chairman of the Board – Rector Erbol Isakaev.
The cooperation between the university and the Petropavlovsk College of Engineering and Transport named after B. Ashimov has been ongoing for a long time. Our students do internships there. Additionally, a great initiative has been the acquisition of work qualifications by our students during their internships: CNC machine operator, electrical fitter, turner, electro-gas welder, and others. Training has been conducted since 2017, with cooperation with 4 colleges in the North Kazakhstan region. Around 600 people have been trained during this time. More than 70 of our students have gained work qualifications at the Petropavlovsk College of Engineering and Transport named after B. Ashimov. This work will continue, and an understanding has been reached with the college management regarding further education of graduates under the university’s dual programs.
