Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Physics at Kozybayev University, PhD, Svetlana Lutsak won the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s competition “Best University Lecturer – 2024.” The national commission selected the best professionals from among 946 candidates from 90 higher education institutions in the country. A total of 150 educators from 38 Kazakhstani universities became winners. Each of them will receive a badge of honor and a prize of approximately 7 million tenge.
The competition is held annually to enhance the prestige of the teaching profession and promote further professional development. The evaluation criteria included the development and publication of electronic educational resources, educational materials, scientific publications in domestic and international journals, the presence of patents for inventions, and so on. Additionally, the quality of the candidate’s teaching, their work in preparing specialists at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels was assessed.
Svetlana Lutsak has extensive experience in teaching and scientific activities. Her research interests include universal algebra and lattice theory. In 2021, she won a research grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan worth 50.6 million tenge for work in this field.
